Enriching Grand Forks Public Schools with grants, scholarships, and alumni services.

Purpose

The Foundation's purpose is to improve the quality of education in the Grand Forks Public Schools by raising private support for new and enriched educational opportunities.

Vision

Support a climate that nurtures every student and reveres excellence in teaching.

Fund innovative programs identified by schools as vital for students and the community.

Make it possible for every student to participate in school experiences.

From its beginnings in 1987, the Foundation has stood for excellence in public school education.  During its first decade, the Foundation grew from a fledgling organization with $12,000 in seed money into one of the most successful public school foundations in the nation with over $2 million in assets.

Since the early 1900s, the Foundation has awarded hundreds of mini-grants to enrich existing curricula or to help pilot new opportunities in Grand Forks Public Schools that would not have been funded through other local means.

The Foundation provides critical support to our educators and students in the exciting endeavor called “learning.”  The mission statement of Grand Forks Public Schools is, “To Provide Opportunities for All Students to Develop Their Maximum Potential.”  On behalf of all associated with our school district, I express sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Foundation for the support in achieving our vision!
